KING EIDER (1 female) found on the 13th was last reported at the west end of 
Andrew Haydon Park on the 18th. A male was reported at the Russell lagoons on 
the 16th.

 

ROSS'S GOOSE (1) were found on the middle pond on the east side of Moodie Dr 
just south of Trail Rd on the 15th and on the Carp River flood plain just south 
of Carp on the 16th.

 

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE (5) were found on the Carp River flood plain just 
south of Carp on the 16th and again on the 18th (3 ad and 2 juv).

 

CACKLING GOOSE (3) were found on the Moodie Dr ponds, on the Carp River flood 
plain south of Carp (2) and from Russ Bradley Rd (2). SNOW GOOSE (several 1000) 
were seen from hwy 417 east of Casselman on the 16th and a BRANT was seen from 
Andrew Haydon Park west on the 17th.

 

ICELAND GULL (1) was found on Trail Rd and a NELSON'S GULL (1 1st winter) 
Glaucous X Herring Gull hybrid was found at the Winchester lagoons.   
 
Interesting sightings this week were: CAROLINA WREN (2) continue near 
Esquimault Ave and Beaumars Dr and one was seen at a Village of Rockcliffe Park 
backyard feeder on the 19th. SANDHILL CRANE (1) was found at the Experimental 
Farm opposite the Civic Hospital on the 14th and 25 were seen near Smith and 
Milton Rd on the 17th. LAPLAND LONGSPUR (1) was with SNOW BUNTING (3) at the 
Britannia Pier on the 14th. BELTED KINGFISHER were seen at Andrew Haydon Park 
and Shirleys Bay on the 16th. AMERICAN COOT (1), BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (1 m), 
LONG-TAILED DUCK (1), SURF SCOTER (2), RED-BREASTED (1) and HORNED (1) GREBE 
and COMMON LOON (1) were also seen at Shirleys Bay on the 16th. EVENING 
GROSBEAK (1) is being seen occasionally at the feeders at 1917 Indian Creek Rd 
on the west side of Larose Forest. DUNLIN (1 1st winter) was found at Andrew 
Haydon Park west on the 17th.
