Observation start time: 08:30:00
Observation end time: 13:30:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter: Todd Pepper

Observers: Jason Sodergren

Visitors:
It was nice to see HBMO's "major domo' Jason Sodergren back for a visit
from Homer, Alaska; and a family of 4 from Amherstburg came out to spend
some time on the tower.

Weather:
Although warmer today the stronger winds out of the S made it feel colder
than yesterday. The temperature ranged from 1.6C - 4C. The winds were out
of the S all day in the 11 - 18 km/hr range. There was a steadily declining
barometric pressure each hour of the count.

Raptor Observations:
23 raptors of 5 species including 5 late Turkey Vultures. There was a small
kettle around 11:15 that included 2 TV's, 3 Red-tails, and an immature
Golden Eagle. Not too bad for the last official day of the 2013 hawk count.

Non-raptor Observations:
Passerines moved again early in the day with 308 birds of 9 species. Six
more Snow Buntings flew over this morning, as did a clean flock of 16 Rusty
Blackbirds. Others included: 4 Tundra Swan; 18 American Crow; 162 European
Starling; 6 Cedar Waxwing; 77 Red-winged Blackbird; 4 Pine Siskin; and 15
American Goldfinch.
