Ontario Winter Listers.
Earlier today I refound the Eared Grebe that was found yesterday by a group of Guelph birders. Since this is a significant winter bird, I thought I would post it widely to the list serve. The bird was at the back of the quarry pit swimming with Mallards and also a Horned Grebe for good comparison. Directions. Take Highway 6 to Calfass Road which is located in the small town of Morriston. Go west on Calfass to Concession 7, north on Concession 7 to Consession 2 Puslinch. Go west on concession 2 Puslinch and you will start seeing all the quarry pits which are well signed. McMillan PIt is on the south side of the road. If you get to Downey Road which is Wellington Road 35 you have gone too far west. https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=Downey+Road,+Guelph,+ON&hl=en&ll=43.439584,-80 .213928&spn=0.104825,0.154324&sll=43.381256,-79.83992&sspn=0.419703,0.617294 &oq=downey+road,&hnear=Downey+Rd,+Guelph,+Ontario&t=m&z=13 Cheryl Edgecombe _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
