Walking along the north side of Lake Victoria this morning, I heard a harsh
scolding call. At first I thought grey squirrel but as I got closer I could
see the Carolina Wren calling loudly from a low bush. Carolina Wrens are not
common in Stratford and often suffer die back in cold winters. This specimen
must have good genes to survive -26 C of a few nights ago.

The bird was along the north side of Lake Victoria in Stratford. There is
parking very close at the east end of William Street. From Ontario Street (Hwy
7/8) take Waterloo Street north to William Street then turn right and follow it
to the east end of the lake.
