Raptor Observations: Only a single, local Red-tail appeared a few times during the day. Non-raptor Observations: Few birds showed themselves with the exception of a few Black-capped Chickadees and 2 Northern Cardinals at the feeders. Three Mallard Ducks made numerous passes over the viewing area throughout the day. One woodpecker was heard, though not seen, in the woods to the west. Just as we were about to leave a small flock of Robins, followed by 3 Bluebirds, flew in from the field to the south and posed on the tree branches near the feeders for a minute or two. Nice end to a very long and uneventful day. Predictions: Still cold, though sun expected and a little warmer so a few brave migrants may pass by. I wouldn't expect too much as yet though. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sandra Horvath () Grimsby, ON - Beamer Conservation Area information may be found at: http://www.niagarapeninsulahawkwatch.org/ Please note: Data in this report is not official until reviewed and finalized after the end of the season. © 2014 Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch
