With the formation of water on top of the ice of Staines Pond, the geese which
come in in late afternoon and spend the night on the pond are landing on the
ice itself and spreading out. This enabled me to easily spot two CACKLING GEESE
on the ice, markedly smaller than the surrounding CANADA GEESE and with very
small bills.

Directions: Staines Pond is at the SE corner of Morningside Ave. and Staines
Road in Scarborough.
