Subj: Red-n. Grebes, Black-cr. Night-Herons-Niagara  Falls


March 18  -  On Goat Island in the Niagara River Tufted  Titmouse and 
Glaucous Gull. Looking at Weseloh Rocks (the islands west of  Three Sisters 
Islands, about 500 meters upstream of the brink of the Canadian  Falls) there 
were four BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS at the colony. Also viewing  the Niagara 
River from New York at the Waterfowl Viewing Area and Water  Intakes there 
were totals of: 350 Common Goldeneye, 430 Greater Scaup, 190  Canvasback, 50 
Bufflehead, 60 Common Mergansers, and a RED-NECKED GREBE at the  Waterfowl 
Viewing Area, about 3 km upstream of the brink of the falls.   For the second 
time this month no Bald Eagles were seen at the nest on Navy  Island.
