This morning at 11 am my wife and I saw a Snowy Owl sitting on top of the ice at the end of the west side of the Whitby Harbour break wall. For a good look you have to walk to the end of the east pier. Also in the harbour channel were 3 Harlequin ducks, one male and 2 females. They were chased out by a boat but settled on the lake just east of the pier.
Directions: Exit Hwy 401 at Brock Street Whitby and go south to the lake, park in the parking lot on the west side of the road past Pringle Creek.
