Posting for Cliff Bennett: A Solitary Sandpiper has been seen for at least three days in the Mississippi River west of Lanark Village, Lanark County. Photographs have been circulated.
Directions: >From Lanark Village, take County Rd 12 towards McDonalds Corners to just >before Playfairville. Turn right on Iron Mine Road and continue on this road >until you get to the river by the two bridges. Or, from Perth, take 511 north to Balderson, West on County Rd 7, through Fallbrook to Playfairville and County Rd. 12. Turn right on 12, over the bridge and left on Iron Mine Rd. The bird has been seen foraging along the edge of the ice, just a dozen metres down from the bridges.
