It should be clarified that the bird appears to be a first spring male. While it was first singing when discovered by Jeff Harrison early this afternoon, it was not singing at the time of our observation between 4:15 and 5:15 pm. At the latter time, it flew westwards from the Eastern Gap and gave a brief flight note. It did not appear to fly far. There are plenty of midges in the area where the warbler was feeding. As well as Scots Pine, it was seen habituating Black Willow and Cottonwood trees, sometimes rather high up, although it tended to stay at or below 5 m. from the ground.
