The adult breeding-plumaged Laughing Gull found and photographed by Rob Lonsberry yesterday around 6pm on the east pier of Cobourg harbour was refound by him at 4.45 pm today, Wednesday June 4 and seen by others. Very few gulls have ben on the pier until late afternoon in the last few days but then large flocks, mainly Ring-billeds, are congregating and hanging around. Yesterday the Laughing Gull flew off after only half an hour or so but today it looks more settled (we hope) – the nearest gull to the parked cars! It was still there when I left at 5pm.
Directions: Cobourg harbour is reached from Exit 474 on Hwy 401, going south on Division Street, which leads directly to the east pier where you can park.
