Highlights of reports received July 24 through July 31 from the Niagara Frontier Region. In the Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area, July 28, a REEVE, the female of the RUFF species, at West Ruddy Marsh, south of Route 77 and east of Griswold Road. Recent shorebird highlights at the Ruddy Marshes included WILSON'S PHALAROPE, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, SHORT-B. DOWITCHERS and STILT SANDPIPERS. On the Lake Erie shore of Ontario, a single WHIMBREL on July 29, in Port Colborne, Ontario, between Lorraine and Weaver Roads. The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, August 7.
