To tack on to what Cindy has written, many may wish to read this article from
yesterday's New York Times. It's a cut and past job so I hope that all who
which to read the article can open it.

Martha, the very last Passenger Pigeon, died on September 1, 1914.

In less than one lifetime, man attacked a species that numbered over 3
billion and drove it into extinction.

Please take a moment at some point today to reflect on this tragedy and the
ongoing destruction that humans inflict on our beautiful natural world and
the species that share it.
