Observers: Donny Moore, Larry Ludwicki

Visitors:
The Field Botanists of Ontario, Rachel D'Eon and Melissa Debevek shared the
day with us.

Weather:
A pleasant day on the tower with temperatures ranging from 20 to 26C. The
wind was light out of the NW-N. A little rain eary with overcast skies gave
way to a mix of sun and cloud.

Raptor Observations:
In the wake of the overnight cold front which bought the first favourable
winds of the hawk count season we saw the first real signs that fall
migration is under way with 172 birds of 8 species counted. At one point
during late morning we had 9 BE in sight, at the same time, soaring over
the marsh.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
Tomorrow looks like another great day with the best conditions so far this
season. Light and variable winds at the start of the count will become
Northwesterly at 10K early. We will see clear skies at dawn with scattered
fair weather cumulus developing with daytime heating. The temperature will
rise from an early morning low of about 13C to an afternoon high of about
25C.
