Sorry, forgot to put in directions to the West Perth Wetlands.
They are at the west end of Mitchell, Ontario, just off of Rd 23 on Frank Street. >From the centre of town at the intersection of Rd 23(aka rd 164) and Rd 8 (aka Line 34), go south west on 23 to Frank Street and turn left. About a km down the road is the entrance to the West Perth Wetlands. There is a sign there, which also mentions the playing fields and dog park at that site. The driveway is on the north side of the fields and dog park. Drive in and go ahead until you get to the parking area. The several ponds are laid out ahead of you. Most of the shorebirds are in the fenced area south of the active Sewage Plant.
