I have heard from a few birders that are making their way out there this
morning, hope they catch a glimpse of these little swamp jewels.
Visiting birders are encouraged to submit their lists to the ebird Hotspot
"H.R. Frink Conservation Area and Outdoor Education Centre." The Quinte Field
Naturalists are compiling a birdlist for the site.
Directions; from HWY 401, go north on HWY 37 for 8.8 km, then right on Thrasher
Road 2 km to the H.R. Frink Centre at 381 Thrasher Road. The parking lot and
Marsh Boardwalk are on the opposite side of the road as the Learning Centre.
The best spot for this skulking species was at a bench, about 25 meters from
the start of the boardwalk. They popped up when their song was played, and
once when velcro was ripped.
