The Hudsonian Godwit is still present at Presqu'ile with the difference this morning being it was at the tip of Owen Point so no wading required to see it Also present Pectoral sandpiper - 21 Dunlin - 10 Semipalmated Sandpiper - 3 Lesser yellowlegs - 1 Semipalmated Plovers - 4 Black-bellied Plovers - 4
Also the usual Gulls - Ring-billed, Herring, Black-Backed and Bonaparte's Beautiful summer day out there today. To reach Presqu'ile Provincial Park, exit Hwy 401 at Hwy 30 (exit 509) go south and follow the signs through Brighton (15 minutes) Locations within the Park are shown on a map at the back of a tabloid that is available at the Park gate. The wade to Gull Island is no more than a foot deep now but always beware of waves and the shifting currents can change the bottom at any time. The Duck Hunt closes Owen Pt and Gull Island on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays Birders are encouraged to record their observations on the bird sightings board provided near the campground office by The Friends of Presqu'ile Park and to fill out a rare bird report for species not listed there.
