1st winter bird observed at the local dump in Haliburton at 2:30 this afternoon. In with many Ring-bills and Herrings of all ages, allowing for comparisons in size and structure.
Haliburton landfill is located W of the village of Haliburton, off of Cty Rd 21 on Industrial Park Rd. Dump is about 1km N on Industrial Park Rd on the right. Let the people at the gate know you are a birder...they're are usually very accomodating.
