Walking the dog in Earl Rowe park this morning, I chanced upon a Wilson's Snipe
sitting in a bit of open water on the northeast bank of the Boyne river, about
100 metres down from the bridge on the sixth concession. While I was watching,
a passerine flew up, and low and behold, it was a Hermit Thrush coming down for
a drink!

Earl Rowe Park is just west of Alliston. Going west from town turn right
(north) onto the 7th Concession. At the top of the hill is the park entrance on
the left. A little further down the concession is the entrance to the
Administrative Building which is closer to the centre of the park. You can park
here during he day, but the gate closes around 4:30 pm.

To get to the sight follow the east side of the lake until it narrows into a
wooded trail along the river.
