Observation start time: 08:30:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Larry Ludwicki

Weather:
The wind came from the south today, blowing snow into neat patterns over
the ice on the marsh. Visibility dropped to 200m once the snow started
falling at 10:30 and continued until 2pm, though it lightened up
considerably at 1pm.

Raptor Observations:
Only 5 birds braved the storm today; 4 Northern Harriers and 1 Red-tailed
Hawk. A juvenile Peregrine Falcon didn't migrate but popped up a couple of
times through the day, chasing passerines and maybe scanning for a duck or
two, though it didn't catch anything that we saw.

Non-raptor Observations:
Not much activity on the passerine front, though it was nice to have 2
American Pipits wandering through the grass and on the ice, sticking around
most of the day. A big surprise was a Wilson's Snipe that popped right into
my binocular view while I was checking out some of the mergansers that
stayed in the Trout Pond all day. The snipe flew towards the beach and
wasn't seen again! See today's eBird list
