In the afternoon, brief squalls brought heavier winds and light snow flurries. Temperatures hovered around the 30 degree mark all day. The wind was strong and out of the southwest throughout. Raptor Observations: Gray Ghosts made frequent use of the Harrier Express, dropping down off Celeron Island and rowing low along the water before dipping into the trees off to our right. One adult and one juvenile Peregrine Falcon made themselves conspicuous as well, occasionally diving at the abundance of waterfowl arrayed in front of us. And great looks at a subadult Golden Eagle and an adult Rough-legged Hawk rounded out what was an enjoyable late November outing.
