Erwin Meissner just called to say that 14 Snowy Owls were seen today in the Gore Bay area of Manitoulin Island - most were very lightly marked to "snow white" individuals indicating that they hatched before this year.
Erwin said there was a Northern Hawk-Owl in the Massey area (west of Sudbury) a week ago. He reports Common Redpolls and Pine Grosbeaks are widespread in the Manitoulin and Elliot Lake to Killarney Provincial Park area.
