Total observation time: 6.75 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Claude Radley, Jeremy Hatt, Jim McCoy

Weather:
A completely beautiful November day when the sun was out; a little chilly
when there was full cloud cover. Winds went up to 10km/h from the NW in the
morning, moving to the W and getting a small S component by the end of the
day.

Raptor Observations:
What an exceptional day! There was a really big hour between 12 and 1pm
when we had 59 raptors fly over; mostly Red-tails with quite a nice flight
of Red-shoulders as well. During the rest of the day, 4 Golden Eagles
migrated, one landing on the ice and picking up a snack where it was
watched very closely by two of the resident Bald Eagles. A dark-colouration
Rough-legged Hawk was a very nice sighting at the north side of the marsh
and a kettle of 13 Turkey Vultures also made their way across. At the end
of the day, 109 raptors had migrated, lovely!

Non-raptor Observations:
Most of the excitement of non-raptors came from American Crows, with 1670
passing over the marsh. Goldfinches, Starlings, Robins, Grackles and
Red-winged Blackbirds also made their way overhead. See today's eBird list
http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/view/checklist?subID=S20700098

Predictions:
-5 to -1C with the winds from the SW and S at 10-15km/h. Flurries in the
afternoon.
