The 34th Kleinburg CBC was held on December 14th. On an overcast but reasonably warm day 27 participants counted 15,137 birds of 59 different species. Both of these number are above the count average but below the count highs (19,516 and 59). There was some open water so counts for Canada Goose and Mallard were above average. Good birds for the day included 4 Snowy Owls, 3 Great Black-backed Gulls, American Coot, Eastern Towhee and Barred Owl. As expected there were low numbers for winter finches. Notable misses included Great Horned Owl, Northern Flicker and Snow Bunting.
