Merry Christmas birders I was out for a hike at Chippewa Creek CA - which the only notable sighting was an adult Bald Eagle - and afterwards I drove around the area and found a large flock of what I thought were just European Starlings - but it was two flocks, one of (at minimum) 80 cowbirds, another of a couple hundred starlings. The cowbirds were feeding on the side of the road on Niagara Road 7 aka Marshagan Road, a Google map link to the exact spot is linked below.
Photos were taken, hoping to see if I can get a more exact number from the photos taken -- I'll be submitting this to eBird later. Also present were a handful of house sparrows and a lone kestrel.
