A single Ring-necked Duck and two small rafts of Redheads have come up from the Detroit River to explore the now open Little River this morning. Also present in the same area with some regularity - one or sometimes two male Wood Ducks. I suspect there will be similar variety throughout the day. Both Hooded and Common Mergansers have been hanging out here in recent days. Red-bellied Woodpecker visits my suet.
The Song Sparrow has started to sing on the east bank. You are welcome to view birds from my back deck today. It is 836 Riverdale Ave. in Windsor. Coming from Lakeview Park Marina, come south (away from Detroit, remember?) on Riverdale Avenue, cross Wyandotte Street East. It’s the fifth driveway on your left. Please be respectful of my downstairs neighbour and don’t block his Infiniti. Otherwise, park where you like. Here is a map to Lakeview Park Marina.
