Just an update that this bird first seen by Brandon Holden this morning and refound by Henrique Pacheco tonight was seen on the berm on the north side of Tollgate Pond about halfway down the berm near a couple of small leafless trees. The bird is visibly smaller than the birds around it and although seen sleeping most of the time, popped its head up for some record photographs. It would be worth your while to check this location out in the morning.
Directions: Take QEW to QEW Niagara. Exit at Eastport Drive and follow Eastport over the lift bridge. On the bay side about a kilometre after the bridge there is a large square pond on the right. You can also access Eastport Drive from Lakeshore Road in Burlington by following the signs to QEW Niagara just past Joseph Brant Hospital. Thanks to both finders for giving us hope that the birds are returning to the HSA! Cheers, Cheryl Edgecombe HNC. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
