Ten Purple Marten scouts arrived at my neighbour’s Marten hotel last Thursday, just after noon. Since this is not my personal property, I am not at liberty to give the exact location; only to say that they can be seen hunting over the residences, just past the street entrances of Beehive and Victoria Drives, in Southview estates, Cameron.
Southview Estates is a lakeside residential and cottage community on Sturgeon Lake, north of Lindsay. Take Hwy 35 north to the village of Cameron. Turn right, just past the little general store, going east on Longbeach road, to Anderson Drive. Turn right on Anderson Drive to Victoria or Beehive Drive. Turn Right on either street and watch for Purple Martens, hunting over the houses. Happy birding.
