Birding continues to be good at the Park. At the Tip a number of birds were
taking part in reverse movements with the south-west winds. Species included
Orchard and Baltimore Orioles, many blackbird sp., warblers, a number of
Red-headed Woodpeckers, Bobolink and many Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

Overall, Woodland Nature Trail was relatively productive, if a little patchy.
Similar comments came from Tilden Woods. There was also a noticeable increase
in the numbers of Orioles being seen. Dozens, probably hundreds were seen
flying south over the tip. Indigo Buntings are also finally starting to be
reported.

On the various trails 13 species of warbler have been reported so far,
including many common species and a Golden-winged Warbler.

Firsts of the spring this morning include Veery, Swainson's Thrush, Red-eyed
Vireo, Eastern Kingbird and Chestnut-sided Warbler

Most noteworthy was a Henslow's Sparrow, seen near the large Honey Locust tree.

Hillman Marsh will be holding another shorebird ID workshop this afternoon
between 4 and 6 pm. Highlights there included many Dunlin, both species of
Yellowlegs, Black-bellied Plovers, Least Sandpiper, Semipalmated Plover,
American Golden Plover Horned Grebe, Peregrine Falcon, and most exciting, an
American Avocet.

Also reported today were 18 Willets at Wheatley Harbour.

REMINDER: PLEASE DO NOT WANDER OFF ESTABLISHED TRAILS
