Good Birding, The Day started with dense fog and warm temperatures similar to yesterday. As it brightened up the Tip revealed some excellent birds. Both Yellow-billed and Black-billed Cuckoo were noted, and a Dickcissel flew off the Tip. A Nelson's Sparrow was seen just south of the solar panel, and a Worm-eating Warbler was seen just east of the interpretive centre at the Tip (where the Barn Swallows nest) and north of the 42nd Parallel sign. Patience may be required in order to see the Nelson's Sparrow and Worm-eating Warbler. Alder, Willow & Yellow-bellied Flycatchers were also seen in good numbers and a Willow was singing.
Yellow-billed Cuckoos are also being reported from the Woodland & Tilden Trails. A variety of the more common migrating warblers, including a Blue-winged are being seen on both of those trails. There have been no reports from the north end of the park so far today, however the Glossy Ibis and American Avocet were reported from the Shorebird Cell of the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area this morning.
