  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press

  report.

  CONNECTICUT WARBLER was the highlight of reports received
  May 21 through May 28 from the Niagara Frontier Region.

  In Buffalo, May 25, a late migrant highlight, a very rare
  CONNECTICUT WARBLER at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The warbler was
  found in the dumping area below the ridge.

  May 17, UPLAND SANDPIPER was reported again in Wyoming
  County, on Route 77 or Cattaraugus Road, just south of
  Minkle Road in the Town of Sheldon.

  CLAY-COL. SPARROW, May 28, in the Cattaraugus County Town of
  Machias.

  Also the 28th, an unexpected BLACK TERN at a higher elevation
  pond off Kingsley Road at Benson Road in the Wyoming County
  Town of Middlebury.

  This week in the Iroquois Refuge and surrounding areas - a
  LEAST BITTERN was heard at Schoolhouse Marsh, off Chestnut
  Ridge Road. Along the ridge road, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER,
  COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, HOODED WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART,
  YELLOW WARBLER, CHESTNUT-S. WARBLER and BLACKPOLL WARBLER.
  SANDHILL CRANES heard and seen at two locations in the
  areas. Along the hiking trail south of Owens Road near
  Meadville Road, a pair and a single ACADIAN FLYCATCHER, a
  migrant PHILADELPHIA VIREO, and SCARLET TANAGER. Also
  YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO calling on Meadville Road.

  Shorebird this week - up to 16 RUDDY TURNSTONES at the
  Batavia Waste Water Plant, between the far ponds. Water
  levels of the North Marsh, on Knowlesville Road in the Oak
  Orchard Wildlife Management Area, are being lowered,
  attracting SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 85
  LEAST SANDPIPERS. At a wet spot along Ridge Lea Road in
  Amherst, 7 LEAST SANDPIPERS.

  Other recent reports - GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was heard among
  night migrant VEERY and SWAINSON'S THRUSH over a Town of
  Tonawanda yard. In Amherst, GR. CR. FLYCATCHER at the
  Saratoga Road park in Snyder. And, just 3 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS
  at two locations.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, June 4.
