Greetings Ontbirders, I just (515 p.m.) saw an Arctic Tern flying over Weller’s Bay as seen from the end of Smoke’s Pt Rd. There are several Common and Caspian Terns also flying over the Bay but the Arctic was alone. A big storm front is rolling through now which may explain it being here.
Directions: Weller’s Bay is at the west end of Prince Edward County near Carrying Place, which is south of Trenton. From Carrying Place follow Cty Rd. 33 east toward Bloomfield but turn south on Smokes Pt. Rd (about 2 km from Carrying Place) and follow to the end where it meets Weller’s Bay. The tern was visible off to the right but is moving around so could be anywhere in the Bay. Cheers, Doug Doug McRae P.O.
