I went to check to see if the Marbled Godwit was around and checked the marsh
for about an hour and a half. No sign of the godwit but there were still four
Red Knots, one female Wilson's Phalarope, one first-cycle Little Gull in
alternate plumage, one White-rumped Sandpiper, one Common Gallinule, and also
Semi-palmated Sandpiper, Dunlin, Semi-palmated Plover, three Black-bellied
Pover and other more common species.
I checked out Cranberry around 10 AM but couldn't relocated the White-faced
Ibis reported earlier today. I also checked Sobey's Pond and Hydro Marsh
without success.
Directions: exit Hwy 401 at Harmony Rd. in Oshawa continue south on Farewell
St. turn left on Colonel Sam Dr. and park at the General Motors building.
