I can't believe that there are so many A--h--les out there. Why in the world are they fishing in a Marina?! We need more stringent laws & bylaws to prevent this unethical behaviour, no thought what so ever to the wellbeing of our wild life!! Mike Williamson email if you have the balls to try & defend what you did!!!! -----Original Message----- From: ONTBIRDS [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gavin Edmondstone Sent: June 5, 2015 4:30 PM To: ontbirds; Hamilton Birds Subject: [Ontbirds] Bronte Harbour Red-necked Grebes: 2 hatch but adult hooked Sadly one of the two adult Red-necked Grebes (the female, based on prior observations) has a fisherman’s hook stuck in her neck. There are two young chicks. Oakville Humane Society was on the scene before I got there but were evidently unable to catch the grebe. I have posted a photo on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/gavin_edmondstone/ Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Road (Oakville) and go to the lake then turn left (your only option) and park east of the banquet hall on your right. The nest, on a floating tire, is easy to see from shore. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
