Highlights: Much-needed rain has been a feature of the week but unfortunately the birders have mainly stayed at home. Highlights of the week include; LEAST BITTERN, GLOSSY IBIS, LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE, NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD, HENSLOW'S SPARROW, and ORCHARD ORIOLE. City of Kingston Westbrook Marsh has again been productive this week with 4 GREAT EGRETS, 8 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS, 1 GREEN HERON, SORA, VIRGINIA RAIL, and both WILLOW and ALDER FLYCATCHER all seen over 20 minutes on 7th. At nearby Wartman-Patterson Park, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen the same morning. Just east of Kingston, at Ravensview, a CLAY-COLOURED SPARROW was seen again this week (11th). Stateside - Jefferson County, NY A GLOSSY IBIS was today seen at Perch River WMA, just 20km or so from the location where one was seen on 24th-25th May - definitely worth watching out for on this side too. Seen at the same site on 9th were 3 HENSLOW'S SPARROWS. Ashlands Flats WMA had a LEAST BITTERN on 7th and at Chaumont Barrens Preserve, a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and 2 PRAIRIE WARBLERS were seen on 9th. Other sightings The Napanee Limestone Plain IBA has again produced sightings of LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE and UPLAND SANDPIPER this week. At nearby Moscow Marsh, BLACK TERN and GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER were seen on 7th. Just up the road at Camden Lake, GRASSHOPPER SPARROW, BLACK TERN and PIED-BILLED GREBE were seen the same day. At Roblin, singles of PINE SISKIN and PURPLE FINCH were seen today (12th). The second NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD of the week was seen on Howe Island on 8th. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was seen yesterday (11th) at Washburn Road, Sunbury and a CANADA WARBLER was seen at Chaffey's Lock Road on 7th.
