Hello Everyone, This morning, I found a breeding-plumaged American avocet in Chatham-Kent. It was in a flooded bean field (the plants are only just visible, so the field is basically mud and water) with a good number of killdeer, one lesser yellowlegs and a couple of mallards. I first found the bird at 8:45 and it was still present when I returned at 11:00. Directions: Travel highway 3 west of Blenheim, through Cedar Springs. Turn north on Craford Rd 2.5 km along. Craford ends at Seventeenth Line. Turn west (left) and the field is 500m from this corner on the north side. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
