  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Niagara Frontier reports of the past two weeks, July 16
  through July 30, were highlighted by an UPLAND SANDPIPER.

  North of the Iroquois Refuge, July 29, an UPLAND SANDPIPER
  along Posson Road, south of Fletcher Chapel Road, in the
  Town of Shelby. Also two EASTERN MEADOWLARKS at this
  location.

  July 28, in the Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area, a pair
  of SANDHILL CRANES with one young crane, viewed from the
  Albion Road tower.

  In Amherst, July 25, at a wet area along Ridge Lea Road,
  between North Bailey Avenue and I-290, four shorebird
  species - 10 KILLDEER, 2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, LESSER
  YELLOWLEGS and LEAST SANDPIPER, plus a GREAT EGRET.

  July 17, three MERLINS including one young, in a North
  Buffalo neighborhood. MERLIN also on Shirley Avenue near the
  UB Main Street campus.

  And at a farm in the Genesee County Town of Bethany, ORCHARD
  ORIOLES returned to nest for the second year.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, August 6.
