When I went to the site at 8h15 am there were only a handful of birders
watching a group of only 1000 Snow Geese. The rest of the geese must be
feeding somewhere in the surrounding fields. They will be back! It was
raining lightly.

The Pink-footed Goose was not seen. Richard Waters did find a Ross's Goose
when I was there; it became my 6th goose species of the week-end at this
site.

Please see photo of the PINK-FOOTED GOOSE, Ontario's first, I found on
Friday, here:

Thanks to Brandon Holden who was the first to e-mail me, to tell me the bird
in the blog photo was a PFGO and to Bruce Di Labio who phoned me to discuss
the circumstances of the sighting.

Later today I will be adding nice flight photos of the goose I took
yesterday. These will be at this site:

DIRECTIONS:

Take Hwy 417 east from Ottawa past Casselman and take exit 58. Turn right
(south) on Hwy 138. After a short distance turn right on Laflèche Rd. The
geese are often seen feeding in the fields to the north (on right).

Good Luck!

Jacques
