Hi Everyone

Snowy Owls appear to be on the move in eastern Ontario. Since October 18 I’ve
received reports of five individuals from scattered locations and on October 31
I saw one west of Ottawa. All birds reported appear to be adults. This is the
first time since 1974 that I've observed Snowy Owls in October. During the
large irruptions in the winters of 2013/14 and 2014/15 Snowies weren't
detected until mid November in our region. There have been reports west of
Thunder Bay and in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. It will be interesting to
see if we have another winter of Snowy Owls.

Yesterday, November 2, I had 4 Common Redpolls and 3 Bohemian Waxwings in Carp.

Good birding,

Bruce
