  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Highlights of reports received October 29 through November 5
  from the Niagara Frontier Region.

  High winds along the length of Lake Erie herded uncommon and
  rare species to the mouth of the Niagara River. October 29,
  four JAEGERS, including 3 PARASITIC JAEGERS, between
  Buffalo and Fort Erie, Ontario. At the north end of the
  Black Rock Canal at Unity Island [formerly Squaw Island], 2
  RED PHALAROPES and a SABINE'S GULL. Another SABINE'S GULL in
  the Niagara Falls gorge, and LITTLE GULLS at several places
  on the upper and lower river.

  Another wind delivery, November 1, a rarely recorded adult
  BLACK-LEG. KITTIWAKE, with at least 3 LITTLE GULLS,
  off Unity Island.

  October 30, on Lake Ontario, first report this season of
  PURPLE SANDPIPER; a brief stop on the Wilson Pier in Niagara
  County. Also along the lakeshore, increasing numbers of RED-
  BR. MERGANSER, COMMON GOLDENEYE, BUFFLEHEAD and BONAPARTE'S
  GULL, plus a few SNOW BUNTINGS.

  In the Village of Lewiston in Niagara County, two BLACK
  VULTURES roosting with TURKEY VULTURES on 4th Street.

  Other reports - RUSTY BLACKBIRD with RED-W. BLACKBIRDS and
  COMMON GRACKLES in a Hamburg yard. At Birdsong Park in
  Orchard Park, BELTED KINGFISHER, PILEATED WOODPECKER and
  RUBY-CR. KINGLET. And, a migrant RED-SHOULDERED HAWK over
  the Town of Tonawanda.

  There will be a BOS meeting this Wednesday, November 11, at
  7 PM at the Buffalo Museum of Science. The program will be
  a presentation on the birds of Eastern Australia.
  Visitors are always welcome at BOS meetings.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, November
  12. Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may
  report sightings after the tone. Thank you for calling and
