Weather:
Yet another gorgeous day for November, with plenty of sun and only a small
breeze most of the time. Unfortunately, the breeze was from the SSW, S and
SSE. The temperature rose quickly in the morning, getting to 11C and 12C.

Raptor Observations:
The first three hours of the count only produced a harrier and a Turkey
Vulture, but things picked up just before noon. The birds were flying to
the north of us still, but significantly closer than they have been these
past few days, allowing for a few really nice looks. Three great moments of
the day were two dark-morph Rough-legged Hawks and a light-morph
Rough-legged Hawk, all beautifully lit up and reasonably close. Red-tails
were the most abundant raptor, and Red-shoulders appeared every now and
again. A few more Northern Harriers, Sharpies, and Cooper's Hawks completed
the count.

Non-raptor Observations:
The marsh is brimming with the usual species of waterfowl, today including
a Redhead. Two Hooded Mergansers flew over in the afternoon, and in the
morning over 400 ducks of unknown species were up over the marsh, appearing
like a cloud of insects. A Winter Wren spent some time singing in the
morning close to the tower, while a group of around 80 Rusty Blackbirds
filtered through the trees. The skies were filled all day with over 500
American Goldfinches, along with 135 Horned Larks, 350 American Crows, and
a handful of bluebirds, robins, Cedar Waxwings, Red-winged Blackbirds,
Purple Finches, House Finches and Pine Siskins. 3 Blue Jays were seen. 3
Monarchs were a big surprise today. See today's eBird list

Predictions:
SE winds all day, temperatures up to 12C.
