On the way home from Point Pelee, I briefly stopped at St. Clair NWA.
Thousands of geese and swans are present there and the surrounding fields.
Near the entrance I spotted at least 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE along
with 8 SANDHILL CRANES and a single SNOW GOOSE.
I did not spend much time there, so there are likely other things to find!
Nearby at the NE corner of Rivard Line and Heron Line, I saw a SNOWY OWL
sitting in the field. First one I have seen this fall, but this area is
known for numbers of Snowy Owls.
Directions:
St. Clair is on Townline Road between Heron Line and Belle Rose Line. From
west of Chatham, head north on Bear Line to Pain Court Line. Head west on
Pain Court Line through village until you hit Townline Road. Go north on
Townline Road.
