Observation end time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 4 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers:

Weather:
Our first day ever of extending our hawk count season into December didn't
bring great things. Hawk watching today was like standing in a big, white
bubble. The fog was thick and unabating, encroaching further and further
into the marsh until visibility was limited to 100m at noon and all hope
was lost for witnessing any sort of migration. The temperature was
unseasonably warm (7C) and it was a little drizzly which made it feel like
spring. Winds returned to the SE and stayed around 8kph.

Raptor Observations:
No raptors seen

Non-raptor Observations:
Since visibility was so low, not too many ducks were counted in the marsh,
but there were 3 Tundra Swans that flew in. A female Belted Kingfisher
continues to fly around the ponds. At a couple of points passerine activity
increased below the tower, with 5 chickadees, 2 White-breasted Nuthatches,
3 Brown Creepers, 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 7 American Tree Sparrows, 1
Song and 1 Swamp Sparrow, 2 Northern Cardinals (male and female), and a
goldfinch flying around. See today's eBird list

Predictions:
Our count will continue into the second week of December. Tomorrow calls
for a cool morning, rising to 6C, with winds from the east.
