Today Ian Cannell and I birded part of Haldimand County (south of Hamilton) and 
following is some of our interesting birds with some quantities.

Bald Eagle – 2 adults, Northern Harriers, Cooper’s Hawk, Northern Goshawk 
(adult male), Red-tailed Hawk – 31 including an almost white bird + 14 on the 
way home, Rough-legged Hawk – 16, American Kestrel – 11, Merlin, Wild Turkey, 
Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, Northern Flicker – 2, 
Horned Lark, Eastern Bluebird – 6, American Robin, Northern Mockingbird – 3, 
American Tree Sparrow – 300, Fox Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Lincoln’s Sparrow, 
White-throated Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco – 110, Snow Bunting, Eastern Meadowlark 
and Brown-headed Cowbird – 150.
