While scanning for the Eurasian Wigeon at the spit late this afternoon (4:45pm), I came across what appears to be a Tufted Duck x Scaup hybrid. The bird has a noticeable stubby tuft and charcoal back (darker than surrounding Greater Scaup). It was roughly 150m offshore at the mouth of the Marina Harbour. A nice bonus to the continuing Wigeon!

Just past the sign there is a snow-covered path/road leading west towards the water. Walk the path/road to the end and scan. Tommy Thompson Park is located at the base of Leslie Street in Toronto. Good birding, Iain _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
