Hi there,

On my way home from work I had a dark morph Gyrfalcon closing in on two
terrified Mallards at the corner of Fallowfield/Greenbank in Barrhaven.
Identified on-the-fly by its massive size; broad body; long and broad tail;
and two-toned wings (silvery remiges). Time of obs: 6:15 PM. Amazingly this
spectacle occurred about 20 - 30 m in front of me as I was driving. I
slammed on my brakes, pulled over to the side of Fallowfield, put my
four-ways on and watched as it chased the Mallards over houses only 4 km
from my house! I really hope it decides to hunt the wet fields along
Greenbank for a day or two.

Jon
