Hello birders:

So...it snowed this morning and it's quite conceivable that many observers will
see in excess of 20 warbler species today -- not too many times you can say
that at Point Pelee! So far, 27 warbler species have been recorded today.

Today's bird report is almost a carbon copy of yesterday's. In fact, since
Thursday morning, it seems that essentially the same suite of birds remain in
the Park, and in the same locations.

The most productive area is still the section of Chinquapin Oak Trail just
north of the northeast corner of Tilden Woods Trail. It is full of warblers,
including "the" WORM-EATING WARBLER that has been there since Friday and a
MOURNING WARBLER. RED-HEADED and RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS were also feeding
nearby.

The singing male PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was investigating potential nesting
cavities along Shuster Trail by the wetland sloughs. Farther east on Shuster, a
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was singing above a nice cluster of warblers.

Yesterday's PRAIRIE WARBLER remains just south of the tram Tip stop along the
boardwalk. A BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was feeding on the east end of the Sparrow
Field where a MISSISSIPPI KITE flew over just after 9:00AM. The kite was seen
again just after 10:00AM flying over the Tip.

Another RED-HEADED WOODPECKER showed just south of the mid-way tram stop.
Nearby at Bridge F of the Woodland Nature Trail, another PROTHONOTARY fed low
in the slough. ORANGE-CROWNED and a singing CONNECTICUT WARBLER were feeding
low by Bridge B.

We just received a report of a female BLUE GROSBEAK from late yesterday evening
south of the Cactus Field.

Stay warm and good Birding,
