This morning at 1000 am I observed a small flock of 6-8 red crossbills feeding high in conifer pines on a trail in the northeast corner of the North Tract in the York Regional Forest. After 20 minutes the flock moved on in a westward direction.
North Tract is immediately south of intersection of Davis Drive and McCowan Rd. Entrance to the trails is 400 m south of Davis Drive on west side of MxCowan Rd. Walk west from the entrance gate for @ 200 m then take the first trail north.
