Hello Ontbirders, Wanted to let everyone know that OFO, TOC and BSC have organized a nest search hike for this Saturday. Here are the details:
NEST SEARCH BLITZ AT THE BRICK WORKS A Bird Studies Canada, Toronto Ornithological Club, and Ontario Field Ornithologists event Saturday 18 June, 7:00–11:00 a.m. Learn about an exciting area of birding. We will spend the morning on a nest search walk. We aren’t promising that we will find nests, but we will record breeding birds. It will be fun and a good learning experience. Meet at the parking lot of Evergreen Brick Works at 7:00 a.m. Leaders: Daniel Riley, Lynne Freeman Note that the TTC bus to the Brick Works is *not yet* running. The address is 550 Bayview Avenue. From the Don Valley Parkway, take the Bloor/Bayview exit and go north on Bayview. From downtown, use River Street, which runs north from King to join Bayview just north of Gerrard. From East York approach Bayview via Pottery Road, which runs between Bayview and Broadview (north of Bloor); turn south to the Brick Works. Parking at the Brick Works is $8 for the day. -- Lynne Freeman [email protected] "Be bold, be brave, be amazing...."
