At about 11 AM today Tim Logan and I bumped into an Arctic Tern at Cobourg harbour on the east breakwater perched near a Common Tern. Flew west.
We located it again from the beach immediately west of the harbour, it was fishing close to shore. Flew east. Located it again at noon.with several Common Terns perched in exactly the same spot on the east breakwater. Presumably the same bird first found by Clive Goodwin as reported by Margaret Bain some days ago, posted on eBird by Luke Berg June 23, though I don't think it has been reported since. I'll put a photo on eBird. Beware, Cobourg harbour is a busy spot at the moment as preparations are underway for what looks to be a big Canada Day event, rides, tents, concessions, including the east pier...
